Which seat are you in?
Executive directors and board members feel the same problems from different chairs. Pick yours.
For executive directors & CEOs
I run the charity
- You’re chasing receipts instead of running programs
- Month-end takes weeks and still doesn’t match the bank
- Growth is moving faster than your finance function
You didn’t start a charity to reconcile bank accounts.
Get a 30-minute review of your books, controls and reporting. We’ll tell you the first three things we’d fix, whether or not you work with us.
For treasurers & board chairs
I sit on the board
- Statements arrive late, or in a format nobody can read
- You can’t tell restricted cash from unrestricted
- The auditor keeps finding the same issues
That’s not really volunteering anymore. That’s a job.
See what a board-ready report should look like, or check your charity’s finances in two minutes. Happy to talk it through, no pitch.
What we fix
Three problems we see in almost every charity
01
Compliance is a documentation problem
Charities that send funds overseas face closer CRA scrutiny. We keep the agreements, approvals and records regulators expect, for every disbursement.
Most charities that lose status didn’t commit fraud. They lost it on paperwork.
02
Growth breaks finance first
New programs, new funders, more restricted gifts. We build the systems before growth exposes the gaps: reconciliations, fund tracking and controls.
If you keep catching the errors, that isn’t the system working. It’s the system missing.
03
Boards deserve numbers they can act on
Clear monthly statements, fund balances and a dashboard your treasurer can explain in five minutes, not a spreadsheet nobody trusts.
Being under budget doesn’t always mean you’re spending well.
Board-ready reporting
Numbers your board can act on, every month
No more 40-page exports nobody reads. Each month your treasurer gets one clear report: cash, reserves, restricted and unrestricted funds, and what changed.
- Books reconciled and closed on schedule
- Restricted funds tracked separately, so you know what you can spend
- A dashboard your treasurer can explain in five minutes
- Filings and audit files kept current all year
- Books reconciled to Sept 30
- T3010 filed on time
- Overseas grants documented
- Audit file up to date
last fiscal year
